WC Council to discuss options to fill vacancies
Council expected to accept resignations of Borer,GilletteWebster City City Council members will consider options for filling the two vacancies on the council Monday when they meet in regular session.
Council members will to discuss appointments versus special election to fill the two seats. The vacancies occurred late last week with the resignations of Melissa Borer and Mark Gillette. The council is also expected officially accept the resignations.
In other business, Mayor Gene Gray will administer the oath office to two new police officers, Joel Delaney and Eric McKinley. The council will also consider a proposed purchase of 2010 squad car for the police department.
Other agenda items include a proposed Vision Iowa grant application for the Boone Bash River Dash Marketing, and a contract with Chamness Technology, of Blairsburg, for tree grinding for the tree/brush drop off site. The council will also set a public hearing date for the proposed amending of the Code of Ordinances for Webster City pertaining to zoning.
A closed session is planned at the end of other business to hold a strategy session in connection with collective bargaining with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234.
