It was a full house Sunday night as the Hamilton County Republicans gathered at the Webster City Senior Center for the third annual Chili Supper.
More than 100 were in attendance, according to Becky Kepler, one of the organizers.
"We were pleased with the turnout. We surpassed last year's attendance numbers and the auction helped raise some money."
Speakers for the evening were Sen. Charles Grassley, Congressman Tom Latham, State Auditor David Vaudt, Rep. Dave Deyoe, David Jamison, candidate for Iowa state treasurer, and George Eichhorn, candidate for Iowa secretary of state.
Several gubanatorial candidates also spoke, including Bob Vander Plaats, Rep. Christopher Rants, Rep. Rod Roberts and Christian Fong. Also on hand were other Republican leaders of state and national committees.
"We had a great time, and people seemed to be very interested in hearing what the candidates for governor had to say," she said.
Kepler said Latham flew in on Sunday for the event following the health care vote in the House.
