Sterling Kent Heyer was born July 19, 1949, in Webster City, Iowa. He passed away at his home in Deer Trail, Colorado, on October 18, 2009.

Kent graduated from Webster City High School in 1967; he attended Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City. He served in the Air Force for 7 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He received his B.A. from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, and later earned an M.A. in Procurement and Acquisitions Management. Kent was employed with several firms in the high tech and aerospace industries, was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed his trips to Canada.

Kent is survived by his parents, Marvin and Gwen Heyer of Littleton, Colorado, and brother, Neal, and wife, Lana, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Memorial service and internment were held on Oct. 30, 2009, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
