Polls are open in Webster City from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Polling sites in all other Hamilton County communities will be open from noon until 8 p.m.
Hamilton County voters will go to the polls today to decide who will serve on city councils and on a variety of boards and commissions on the ballot. In several communities, a mayoral seat is also on the ballot.
The following is a breakdown of the candidates on the ballot, the polling sites for each community and the hours each site will be open:
Webster City
Four candidates are running for three seats on the Webster City City Council.
Janet Adams and Jerry Kloberdanz are seeking re-election to a second term of office on the City Council. Linda Conaway and Jacob Pulis are also running for seats on the council.
Voters will actually find five names on the ballot for City Council. Mark Ferguson, who dropped out of the race several weeks ago, will still appear on the ballot as he missed the Sept. 22 deadline to withdraw.
Mark Dohms and Michael R. Hames are running for two Kendall Young Library Trustee positions. If elected, their terms would run from Jan. 1, 2010 through Dec. 31, 2014.
Kellee A. Shey is the lone candidate running for a Kendall Young Library trustee position for Jan. 1, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2015.
John Van Diest is running unopposed for the Fuller Hall Board of Trustees.
Webster City voters will cast their ballots at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1005 Beach St., Webster City. Voters are asked to use the west entrance. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to election officials.
Blairsburg
Troy Hassebrock is running unopposed for mayor of Blairsburg. Kacey Flikkema and Rodney E. Harris are running for the two open City Council seats.
Voters are reminded to cast their ballots at the Blairsburg Fire Station, 402 Lake St., Blairsburg, between the hours of 12 and 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Ellsworth
Ellsworth voters will decide a three-way contested race for two City Council seats. Kris Groth, Stephen M. Holt and Marty Jensen are each running for the two vacant seats on the council. Brett S. Hodnefield is running unopposed for mayor.
Polls will be open in Ellsworth at the Ellsworth Community Center, 1724 DeSota St., from 12 to 8 p.m.
Jewell
Mickey Walker is running unopposed for mayor in the Jewell municipal election. Also running unopposed are City Council candidates Kenn Outzen, Leo J. Reiter, and Rick Young.
Voters may cast their ballots at the South Hamilton High School, 315 Division St., Jewell, and are asked to use the main entrance. The polls in Jewell will be open from 12 to 8 p.m.
Kamrar
Four candidates - David Mayo, Jason Moon, Scott D. Nieman, and Greg Philbrook - are seeking three seats on the Kamrar City Council.
Voters in Kamrar will cast their ballots at the Kamrar Lions Building, 430 Elm St., west entrance. The polling site will be open between 12 and 8 p.m.
Randall
Two candidates are on the ballot for three City Council seats in Randall. Michelle Culver and Scott Stephens are seeking election for those seats. The position of mayor for the city of Randall is also on the ballot, however, there are no declared candidates for the office.
Randall voters can cast their ballots at the Randall City Hall, 450 Main St., between 12 and 8 p.m.
Stanhope
Harold Hove is running unopposed in Stanhope for the office of mayor. Three candidates - Gary Baker Jr., Trent A. Flockhart, and John R. Nelson - are seeking election to the two vacant seats.
The Stanhope Community Building will be the polling site for the municipal election. The polls will be open from 12 to 8 p.m.
Stratford
Julie Ehresmann, Chase Haman, Amber Shroyer and Brian Wilde are on the ballot for three seats on the Stratford City Council. Mike Nepereny is seeking re-election to the office of mayor and is running unopposed.
Stratford Community School, 1000 Shakespeare Ave., will be the voting site and polls will be open from 12 to 8 p.m. Voters are asked to use the south entrance.
Williams
Todd Hauge and Linda Solberg are running for mayor of Williams. Dennis Frayne, Margaret Ronnfeldt and Kim Schimp are running for the three City Council seats.
Polls in Williams will be open at the Williams Public Library, 216 Main St. will be open from 12 to 8 p.m. Voters are asked to use the southeast entrance.
