Motorcycles, classic cars, and autos of all kinds will all tour the county on Saturday to help raise money for the Special Olympics programs of Hamilton County.

The event is a ride and card run starting in Webster City and ending up in Kamrar. Along the way, participants will make stops in Alden, Hubbard, Jewell, Stanhope, Stratford and finally Kamrar. Registration is between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday at the Plaza on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The cost is $10 per person which includes a t-shirt for the first 100 people who register, according to organizers Dennis and LuAnn Jackson.

Dennis Jackson said the ride marks the first time a benefit of this kind has been done for Special Olympics .

"I've worked with Special Olympics for 16 years and so this year we thought we would something special for the athletes of Hamilton County.

"We've opened up the ride for motorcycles, cars, trucks-anything that people wants to ride. That way it allows everyone to join us," he said.

Mike and Sheila Scott, Bruce and Jean Ewing, Denny and Anita Witte, Don Seamonds, Rod and Sandy Hicok, Rex and Maggie Utech, and Chad and Brook Hill are some of the local people helping the Jacksons coordinate the event.

Food will be available along the way in Hubbard and Kamrar, according to LuAnn Jackson. A DJ will provide music in Kamrar at the last stop and the public is invited to stop in to join the fun. A raffle will also be held and will feature donated prizes, including a laundry center, a full size quilt, a tailgater Harley Davidson grill and a basket of barbecue items from Pampered Chef.

Prizes for the card run include car detailing, a free night at the AmericInn, a pool party at Super 8, a night's stay at the Executive Inn, and for the worst hand, a $50 gift certificate to Gilbert Jewelers.

For more information on event, or for raffle tickets, contact the Jacksons at 832-2965.

"The ride is going to be a lot of fun, and the import thing is we're going raise some money for some great local athletes," said Dennis Jackson
