Jerry Lee Lovelace, 74, Florida

Jerry Lee Lovelace, formerly of Iowa City, and more recently of Cape Coral, Fla., died Sunday, June 14, 2009.

His family members include three sons and three daughters-in-law, Mathew and Carmela Lovelace of Coralville, Paul and Jennifer Lovelace of Mission, Kan., Whit and Lia Lovelace of Iowa City; two grandsons, Nick and Alex Lovelace of Iowa City, one brother and two sisters-in-law, Armold and Nola Lovelace, and Irene Lovelace, all of Webster City.

Jerry was born Nov. 29, 1934 in Webster City, the son of Cecil and Thelma (Downs) Lovelace. He graduated from Webster City High School, Webster City Junior College, The University of Iowa, and the University of Iowa College of Law. After graduation, Jerry practiced law in Iowa City for over 20 years before moving to Cape Coral. He was married to Letha Olthoff of Iowa City from 1957 to 1981, and to Barbara (Tai) Kreis of Cedar Rapids from 1987 until his death.

Jerry's love of fishing lured him to many different riverbanks, where he spent countless hours. He asked that his ashes be sprinkled over one of those rivers.

Jerry Lovelace was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Lovelace, his parents, two sisters, Arlette Paras and Peg Knutson, and two brothers, Don and Jack Lovelace.
