Open house comes to Stratford Saturday

March 17, 2009
The Daily Freeman Journal

The Stratford community is gearing up for spring with its Annual Spring Open House scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Corned Beef and cabbage will be offered for St. Patrick's Day at Philly's Caf, and then Reuben sandwiches, potato salad and dessert on Saturday. Tasting is the theme at the Stratford Food Center as well with product sampling all day long on Saturday. Take home tasty treats at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center's bake sale to benefit the renovation of the Shakespeare Community Center.

Another theme of the event is jewelry. In Good Company will be offering a jewelry trunk showing that includes hand crafted Scandi-style Scandinavian jewelry. Hand-made jewelry by Cathy Deakman and Premier Jewelry sold by Amber Shroyer will be on hand at the Vintage Parlor Saturday morning. Other vendors at the Parlor include Gold Canyon Candles, Tastefully Simple, Stanley/Fuller Brush, Watkins, hair & skin care products and crafts by Grandma Fran.

Don't miss the Annual Miniature Golf Classic at Athens Woods Estates. Form your team and have fun putting from every corner of the facility. Easter egg painting will be held at the Swedish Immigrant Museum. Enjoy a view of the new exhibits on display while you're there. Finally, get crafty at the open house featuring Creative Memories products that will be held at the Photos, Memories & More workshop downtown as well as make-and-take crafts sponsored by the Girl Scouts to be held at Vintage Parlor.
