Infant’s death ruled homicide in Jewell
The death of a 15-month-old Jewell child in December has been ruled a homicide. The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Wednesday afternoon that an autopsy determined that Tanner Doran died of "blunt force trauma to the head."
The boy was found dead Monday, Dec. 1, at his home in Jewell,. At the time, very little information about the specifics of the death were released, and there is still little being released publicly about the circumstances of the death.
Hamilton County Attorney Pat Chamber s confirmed only that an investigation is underway, but could not comment on the case.
The investigation is being carried out by the Jewell/Ellsworth/Stanhope Police Department with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
