Rob Eslick, assistant vice president of operations at Hy-Vee Inc., has been inducted into the company's Hall of Fame as the 2008 Officer of the Year. Eslick's Hy-Vee career began at the Webster City Hy-Vee in 1981.
The announcement came at Hy-Vee's 2008 annual meeting held in West Des Moines. The Officer of the Year honors are conferred by a vote of the company's officers, staff members and store directors. The award recognizes outstanding performance by a Hy-Vee officer. Eslick was cited for his ability to help the company build its Southwest District into a prominent position in the marketplace. This District includes Missouri and all Hy-Vee stores in Kansas,.
"We are proud of the job Rob has done in leading our Southwest District, and we are excited to have him receive this coveted award and recognition," said Hy-Vee CEO Ric Jurgens. This is Eslick's second induction into the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame, in 1998 he was named Store Manager of the Year.
Eslick has been with the company 27 years. He held various manager positions in Webster City, Jefferson City, Mo., Council Bluffs, Storm Lake and Sioux Falls, S.D. before receiving his first store director position at Fairmont, Minn., in 1995. He also served as store director at Marshall, Minn., and Kansas City, Mo., before receiving his current assignment in 2003.
Eslick is a graduate of Webster City High School; he also attended Iowa Central Community College. Eslick and his wife, Dee, have two children and currently live in Parkville, Mo., Eslick is the son of Daryl and Audrey Eslick of Webster City.
