WCCT names cast for ‘Twelve Angry Men’
Webster City Community Theatre Directors Abby Sturtevant, Alan Yungclas and producer Loween Getter have announced the cast of the February jury-room drama "Twelve Angry Men."
The cast is as follows: Kyle Clum, jury foreman; Mark Dohms, Dean Evans, Vern Cross, Zach Reed, Doug Getter, Dale Ahrens, Kevin Sharp, Tim Berven, Mike Kroona, Dave Doerr, and Dan Ryherd are jurors, Charles McMurray is the judge, and Pat Powers is the guard.
The play by Reginald Rose takes place in a jury room where a jury is trying to decide if a young man is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an apparent open and shut case becomes and unveiling of each jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other. This play was first performed as a Studio One TV movie in 1954. Its success prompted the classic Sidney Lumet movie starring Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb and Jack Klugman. A stage version was penned in 1964.
The play will be presented Feb. 13-15 and 20-22 at the WCCT Performing Arts Center, Tickets will go on sale one week before the production. For more information, call the box office at 832-4456 and leave a message.
