Busy night for NEH board
By Billie Shelton — Daily Freeman-Journal WriterBLAIRSBURG - The Northeast Hamilton school board opened their December meeting with their first open negotiations meeting with the NEH Education Association.
The board reviewed the building project, along with the staff and board work sessions, with the architect. The board discussed the use or sale of the outbuildings.
The only contractual business on the agenda was approving Linda Anderson as preschool associate. There was also one open enrollment in approved for a third grade student from Webster City.
The board accepted with appreciation monetary donations from Lifetouch, Modern Woodmen of America, the NEH Foundation, Blairsburg UCC Women's Fellowship, Herb and Betty Halleland, the Williams Lutheran Chruch, and the youth of First Presbyterian Church. Most of the donations went to the Special Needs Fund.
In other business, the board discussed preparation for the Department of Education site visit and also was informed that students from NEH volunteered to ring bells for local charities. Other holiday activities at the school include a babysitting service a babysitting service the FCS Club will be hosting during elementary and middle/high school concerts.
Middle and high school students will be taking part in activities on the last day before Christmas break.
The meeting ended with a closed session for negotiations strategy.
