Two vehicles were heavily damaged but the drivers escaped serious injury in this high-impact accident at the intersection of Seneca and Division streets shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

A Hamilton Hospital ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and paramedics checked over those involved, but those persons refused further treatment at this time.

An Iowa State Patrol trooper, who happened to be in the area when the accident occurred, said a Toyota 4Runner operated by Brad Allen Martin, 23, Webster City was southbound on Seneca Street when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and was broad-sided by a Honda Civic driven by Tanner Sherman Ewing, 28, Webster City, who was eastbound on Division Street.

The Toyota 4Runner ended up on its side from the force of the impact. Several men on the scene later righted the vehicle so that it could be removed. Webster City Firefighters were also busy sweeping glass from the roadway before it could be opened up again to traffic.

Martin was charged with failure to yield the right of way.

The accident was under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Assisting at the scene were the Webster City Police and Fire departments and Hamilton Hospital ambulance.

4th District Congressional Race

Greenwald (Garst Seed) vs Latham (Latham Seed)

This race has gotten too SEEDY!

I'm writing in William J. Meyers and by doing so voting to SEND IN THE MARINE for a real common sense approach!

For a little Honda Civic to push a 4-Runer to do a 180 degree spin then still have momentum to flip over onto it's side, you have to know that the Civic was going WAY to fast. A witness came up on the scene and stated that the Civic passed him on Division having to be going a good 50 mph right before the crash.
