WEBSTER CITY - Ben Rasmussen isn't the biggest guy and he's not the fastest guy. But he does have a knack for getting to the football.

Inserted into the middle of the Webster City defense at linebacker last Friday, Rasmussen was a big reason why the Lynx were able to contain Hampton-Dumont's running game en route to a 33-13 victory. He had a team-high eight tackles in the win, prompting him to be named The Daily Freeman-Journal Player of the Week.

Rasmussen will go back to work on Friday when Webster City travels to Waverly-Shell Rock to face a dangerous Go-Hawks' squad.

"It's going to be a tough game, but they're all going to be tough the rest of the season," Rasmussen said. "Waverly is a good team, so we're not going to be too over-confident."

In between school and preparing to face the Go-Hawks, Rasmussen had a little time to speak with us.

5 Questions off the Bench

1. You've been given the ability to make one law, any law you want. What are you doing and why? I would give every person any car they want and I'd go with a Ferrari. (Hey Ben, have you ever thought of running for public office?)

2. If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? I would want super strength and to be able to fly. Flying would probably be more important.

3. Some schools in Iowa have started to entertain the idea of going to a 4-day week and just increasing the amount of time spent in classes each day. This is probably a dumb question, but are you in favor of that concept? No because you'd have to spend more weeks a year in school and I wouldn't want that. Not increasing the weeks, rather the hours in a day, now what do you say? Oh yeah, I'd go with that then.

4. When you walk by a mirror, and nobody's around, do you stop and check yourself out, maybe even pose a little? No, not at all. I have never done that.

5. Given the choice right now, which would you choose: An 'A' in your toughest class or a guaranteed spot in the Class 3A football playoffs? A guaranteed spot in the playoffs, definitely. That probably wouldn't make my parents happy, but that's OK.
