Celebrate Vantec expansion

June 27, 2008
The Daily Freeman Journal
The expansion of a Webster City-born company into a second location in Nebraska was celebrated earlier this spring. Above, founders Bev and Willie Van Wyhe with Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman.
Vantec expanded in Webster City a few years ago when it moved out of a very small factory on Beach Street into a new, large complex on Closz Drive. The new facility in Falls City, Nebraska will employ up to 25 people at its start, planned for this fall.
Vantec is locating in the southeast corner of Nebraska to help satisfy the need of a major customer in the area, and to take advantage of a readily available workforce.
Vantec, Inc., a family business, is celebrating 25 years in business on December 1st, 2008. It was started by Bev and Willie Van Wyhe with two employees and two machines. One of the first employees, James Wood, is still with the company today. Vantec currently employs over 200 people in a 145,000 sq. ft. facility, with 44 machines, at its Webster City location.
