AgriGold's history displays their success story and their influence in the agricultural industry for 72 years. Their priority to focus specifically on corn helps them meet the needs of growers by providing industry leading, unique hybrids, high quality seed and customer oriented Corn Specialists.

In 1936, Akin Seed Company was started by Clarence Akin to serve five counties in Southeast Illinois. Throughout the 1970s, Akin Seed Company's market area expanded to reach twenty four counties and in 1979, the family decided to become independent and market its own brand of seed under the name of AgriGold. Tremendous growth led them to expand their market area throughout the Corn Belt and AgriGold soon became the fastest growing seed company in the 1990s.

In July 2000, Groupe Limagrain joined forces with KWS to form AgReliant Genetics, LLC, which gave AgriGold access to one of the most extensive and unique germplasm sources in North America. During the last six years alone, AgriGold's sales have increased 150%. AgriGold has focused genetics, focused people, and focused results.
