First American Bank recognized for helping small business financing needs

First American Bank has been recognized as a top lender in the state of Iowa by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for Fiscal Year 2007, the agency announced. First American Bank approved 45 SBA loans worth over $7.7 million to small businesses in Iowa. This is the third year the SBA has recognized First American Bank's performance, commitment and support to the program.

"Small businesses are the foundation of our nation's economy, and helping small businesses get the financing they need to succeed is of vital importance," said Joe Folsom, director of the SBA's Des Moines District Office. "We're pleased to work with lenders such as First American Bank in helping Iowa's small business community grow and prosper." Overall in Iowa, the SBA guaranteed 821 loans for $182.3 million during Fiscal Year 2007.
