Ahlers Leman earns newest industry designation

Susan Ahlers Leman, vice president and wealth advisor, First American Wealth Management Group, is one of the first 200 professionals to obtain the industry's newest designation-the Certified Wealth Strategist(r) (CWS(r)) designation. The CWS(r) recognizes individuals who have completed a thorough study of issues surrounding effective wealth advising that comprehensively address clients' wealth management needs. Administered by Cannon Financial Institute, a leading training provider for the financial services industry, the CWS(r) designation addresses the need for a practical, application-based certification program for financial professionals. The designation is awarded to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. Upon completion of the training, Ahlers Leman developed a comprehensive practice management blueprint for best practices.

Ahlers Leman works comprehensively with high net worth individuals and institutions throughout the lifecycle of their wealth plan: creating and growing wealth; protecting and preserving wealth; and planning for the transition of wealth during life and after. She has been with First American Bank's Wealth Management Group for seven years. Ahlers Leman also holds the Life, Health and Accident Insurance designation, and is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Investment Management and Personal Trust Sales. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa, College of Law. A board member of Blanden Charitable Foundation, Iowa Central Community College Foundation and the Young Professionals, Ahlers Leman is president of United Way and Community Foundation of Northwest Iowa, a member of Sonshine Singers and a Comedia Musica Players participant. Ahlers Leman and her husband, Rod, live in Fort Dodge and have four children.
