Ahlers Leman also holds the Life, Health and Accident Insurance designation, and is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Investment Management and Personal Trust Sales. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa, College of Law. A board member of Blanden Charitable Foundation, Iowa Central Community College Foundation and the Young Professionals, Ahlers Leman is president of United Way and Community Foundation of Northwest Iowa, a member of Sonshine Singers and a Comedia Musica Players participant. Ahlers Leman and her husband, Rod, live in Fort Dodge and have four children.
