Prepare for Crop Certification
Officials with the USDA recently announced that Monday, June 30, is the deadline to report crop acres to the Farm Service Agency. Crop acreage reports are used to report compliance wit various farm programs and may be used for histy purposes for future farm programs.
Congress has passed the new farm bill and signup for the 2008 farm program should start in July.
Producers are encouraged to make their acreage reports by the June 30 deadline so that they are in compliance with acreage reporteing thwn they sign up for the 2008 farm program. A fee is charged for thsoe making late-filed acreage reports.
Producers are asked to furnish their planting dates when they make their acreage reports. Crop insurance companies also use the FSA crop acreage reports for their compliance purposes.
Car show to be held July 26
The First Annual Webster City Car Show will be held Saturday, July 26th on Des Moines Street between First and Second from
10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The street will be closed along that block for show cars only.
