Money for Facade in Webster City
March 25, 2013 - Deb Brown
Did you know that the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce has a facade grant program?
It was designed to strengthen the economic viability of Webster City by giving money for improving the appearance and structural conditions of its buildings. Signage, lighting, and awning treatments are just some of the places where this money has been used.
According to Solutions for America “research shows that a healthy and vibrant downtown boosts the economic health and quality of life in a community. Specifically, it creates jobs, incubates small businesses, reduces sprawl, protects property values, and increases the community’s options for goods and services. A healthy downtown is a symbol of community pride and history.”
Some of the recipients who have filed for this grant and received it are:
• KHI Financial Solutions • Shanti Wellness Day Spa • Ted’ s Car Wash • AK Autobody • pHairytales Hair Salon • R Company • Osweiler’s Fashions • WC Community Theatre • Flower Cart • Darlene’s Accounting • Second Street Emporium • Mornin’ Glory Coffee • Critter Nation • Ameriprise Financial • Heart-n-Home • Whoop-ti-doos • David’s Gallery
Grant applications and design guidelines are available at the Webster City Area Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce office at 628 2nd Street. There are still some funds available for 2013, and each year the limited funds are replenished by the Chamber. Funds are granted on a first come, first serve basis. This is another benefit made possible by being a Chamber member.
