Do you know all that Kendall Young Library’s website has to offer? We have many tools, policies, databases, and information to make your lives easier, The website provides general information and links to further information such as hours, address, phone number, current event information, new book information, and links to sign up for the library newsletter. There are also links to get to Bridges: Iowa’s eLibrary, RB Digital, and TumbleBooks: eBooks for eKids. You can use our website to search our Online Catalog and see if a certain book is in or checked out. You can even put a book on hold by signing into our catalog with your library card number.

Want to learn more about the library itself? The About Us tab includes contact information for the Library, Friends of the Library and Library Board information including past Board Meeting Minutes. Also included in this tab are the Library Mission and History, Staff information, and Book Sale information. There is even information about how to support the library here,

The Services tab is how you can get to information about computer access, home library service, local history/genealogy, programs for adults, reference, how to request a book, and links to sites that help you decide what to read next,

The eLibrary tab is where you can get to our eBooks, eMagazines, email newsletter, online databases such as Bridges: Iowa’s eLibrary, Tumble Books: eBooks for Kids, Heritage Quest, Novelist Plus, our new database Brainfuse, our Digital Archives and more,

It is always good to keep up to date on Library policies so you know what you or your children are able to do in the library and what you can do with Library materials. Our Policies are listed under the Policies tab. You can utilize this to view our new Unattended Children policy, Meeting Room policy, Circulation policy, Patron Conduct policy, and more,

We recently added the Iowa Libraries Adventure Pass to our website, You can use your Kendall Young Library card to check out a family pass (good for 2 adults and 2 children) to participating attractions for free, Available venues include: Science Center of Iowa, Blank Park Zoo, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, and Brenton Skating Plaza. All you have to do it log in with your library card, print off your pass, and have fun, You can get a pass to each venue once every 365 days for you and your family,

Make sure you check out the library calendar on our website to keep up with all of our library programs, There is also a link on the Kendall Young Library homepage that will allow you to sign up for Library Newsletters and updates so updates can be sent straight to your own email.
