John “Pete” Peterson, 74, Webster City

John “Pete” Peterson, 74, of Webster City, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Mike Kroona, officiating. Burial will be held at Lawn Cemetery east of Boxholm. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

John Loyd Peterson was born September 4, 1943 in Odgen, the son of Melvin and Vera Good Peterson. He graduated from Boxholm Grand Schools and Grandview Community College. He married Sandra Ann Johnson on July 6, 1962 in Boxholm. Pete worked at the Boxholm Co-op before becoming the General Manager at the Woolstock Elevator for 32 years. He retired from the Fort Dodge New Co-op.

Pete is survived by his wife, Sandra of Webster City; children, Melanie (Kirk) Cramer of Clarion, Jeff (Paula) Peterson of South Elgin, Il; grandchildren, Cassidie (Luke) Odland, Collin Peterson; siblings, Barb Coxe of Dayton, Bonnie Schleif of Boxholm, Jerry (Donna) Peterson of Iowa City, David Peterson of Boxholm, Jane (Terry) Mohr of North Carolina, Vance (Ginger) Peterson of Adel and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Peterson, Jay Peterson and Wanda Pollman.

Pete was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing card games, flying and most of all, spending time with his family.
