Fair time is here again
It’s that time again — time for the Hamilton County Fair. This year’s exposition, with the theme “Equines, Bovines and Little Buckaroos,” begins Tuesday and runs through Sunday at the fairgrounds.
While most of the activities begin Tuesday, 4-H Static Exhibits and booth judging gets underway Monday. Judging begins at 8:30 a.m. with photography and horticulture to be reviewed in the Van Diest Building, while food and nutrition, poster art, personal development, visual arts, science, mechanics and engineering, ag and natural resources will be judged in the Ed Prince Building.
On Tuesday, the 4-H/FFA Dog Obedience Show begins at 8 a.m. in the show arena. All handlers and their dogs must be checked in by 7:30 a.m.
The Pet Show will be held at 1 p.m. in Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Tent.
Open Class check in also gets underway Tuesday. Textiles and hobby craft may check in from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., fine arts and photography entries can check in from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At 5 p.m. the wine contest begins in the Floral Contest with a wine and cheese reception to follow at 7 p.m.
And of course, the big Hamilton County Fair Parade from downtown Webster City to the Fairgrounds begins at 6 p.m. The Farmers Challenge will begin after the parade in the show arena.
