Last weekend saw 73 Cub Scouts from the region participating in the Hamilton County Cub Scout Day Camp held at Brigg’s Woods in Webster City. Scouts converged on the park Friday and Saturday from 8 to 4 enjoying 9 different stations each day based on the Around the World theme.

The Cubs, ages first thru fifth grades, got to experience activities like archery, bb guns, woodworking, different cultural foods, beverages and games, an authentic Native American teepee, water rockets, fishing, bubble socks and, obstacle courses, slingshots and scavenger hunts.

Helping them beat the hot, humid weather were the Webster City and Kamrar Fire Departments, who each took an hour one afternoon to come out and let the kids play in the water to cool off.
