WC school board to meet tonight

Van Diest Medical Center property title opinion on agenda

The Webster City Board of Education will meet tonight to discuss the title opinion on Van Diest Medical Center property.

This item, tabled from the January 8 meeting of the board of directors, concerns the real estate gift agreement with Van Diest Medical Center.

The board may approve of the special and standard exceptions on the Van Diest Medical Center property.

Also on the board’s agenda for this evening is the initial calendar discussion for the 2018-2019 school year.

The informal board meeting with Northeast Hamilton and Stratford will be discussed and reviewed.

The board will discuss negotiation teams for the Webster City Education Association and Webster City Education Services Association.

Another item that was tabled from the January 8 meeting, taxable valuations for the 2019 fiscal year, will be discussed by the board. The valuations may also be approved by the board.

The board will meet in a work session with McPherson and Jacobson to discuss criteria for the hiring of the next superintendent. No action will be taken during the work session. The session is open to the public.

Superintendent Mike Sherwood announced his retirement early this year. His resignation will be effective at the end of the contract day on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

The next board meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the school administration office board room.
