Law enforcement joins fundraising efforts
A fundraiser for Nora Scott involving local law enforcement will take place the week before Christmas at the Webster City Fire Station. Officers from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and the Webster City Police Department will be shaving their heads in support of Scott, who is currently battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Webster City Fire Station.
Brian Miller, of Webster City, is spearheading the event. The fundraiser has raised more than $2,000 within the first 24 hours, including a $1,000 donation from Spangler Automotive.
According to Miller, Scott will be at the event if her health allows.
To contribute to the fundraiser, you can drop off cash or checks at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Webster City Police Department, Neighborhood Realty or send to Miller’s address: 1105 Nancy Lane, Webster City, IA 50595. Make checks payable to Brian Miller. All funds raised will go to Scott’s cancer treatment.
“Anything we can do to help to take some weight off their shoulders,” Miller said. “It’s a lot for one family to handle. If anyone can help out, that would be great.”
