Public hearings on council agenda tonight

Proposed sale of lots in Brewer Creek?5 and 6 Additions at 6 p.m.

A public hearing on the proposed sale of lots in the Brewer Creek Estates 5th and 6th Additions will be held tonight at 6 p.m. during the city council meeting.

The council may approve a resolution providing for the sale of lots in Brewer Creek 5th and 6th Additions.

A public hearing will be held at 5:45 p.m. concerning the proposed plans and form of contract and estimate of cost for the Union Street Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay Project.

A public hearing will be held at 5:50 p.m. on the proposed amendment to the Residential Urban Renewal Area C (Brewer Creek Estates).

The council may approve the Urban Renewal Plan amendment for the Residential Renewing Area.

A public hearing on the continuation of the City-Wide Urban Revitalization Plan for residential tax abatement will take place at 5:55 p.m.

According to the council packet, local realtors were consulted on the prices presented for the lots and deemed the prices to be appropriate. Staff also consulted with the city’s municipal financing attorney, John Danos, partner at Dorsey & Whitney, LLP concerning TIF financing.

The second reading of a proposed ordinance to add four-way stops at the intersections of Fairmeadow Drive and Rodlyn Road and Fairmeadow Drive at Kamen Drive is on the agenda for possible approval. Both locations are currently uncontrolled intersections. The cost to install the posts and signs is estimated at $800.

The council may approve a resolution establishing maintenance of the East Second Street and Superior Street sidewalks on the city right of way.

A resolution authorizing entering into agreements with OPG-3 Inc., of Eagan, MN, for a Laserfiche Data Management System with a scanner for city hall and police department records may be approved.

The council may approve a resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to enter into an agreement for the Millards Lane Drainage Project with The Tile Pros Inc., of Webster City. According to a memo in the council packet, this project will be funded through the city street department operations budget.

A resolution approving and establishing the Declaration of Restrictions and Protective Covenants and Conditions for Brewer Creek Estates 5th and 6th Additions may be approved.

The council may accept the acquisition of property located at 1203 E. Second St. This vacant dwelling was deemed unsafe according to city ordinances. According to the council packet, the property has been vacant for at least six months and is unoccupied.

A resolution authorizing and approving the execution of an agreement to rescind a residential purchase agreement between the City of Webster City and Veranda Homes, Corporation may be approved.

The first reading of a proposed ordinance to modify speed regulations on Beach Street may be approved.

The council may consider approving extending the residential completion agreement between the City of Webster City and Marty and Nathaniel Parkhill at 1503 First St.

An appointment of an individual to the Youth Advisory Commission for the unexpired term ending June 1, 2018 may be approved.

The council may approve the resignation of Lindsay Henderson from the Civil Service Commission.
