Credit unions to merge
PCU?acquires WC?Municipal Credit Union
Jordan Hensley, president and chief executive officer of People’s Credit Union, has announced that the firm will be merging Webster City Municipal Credit Union into its institution.
“We had a great opportunity to help a fellow credit union out,” he said. “It’s the perfect example of the people-helping-people spirit that drives credit unions.
“Tim Neuroth (CEO of WCMCU) and I started discussing things, he wanted to retire and had been overseeing operations at Municipal for many years,” Hensley said. “After working with Tim and the board of directors, we mutually decided that bringing WC Municipal into Peoples would be the best option moving forward.”
Transitioning WCMCU into Peoples should be completed by Dec. 1, Hensley said.
WC Municipal was formed in 1941 and has been serving the Webster City municipal workers ever since. WCMCU is located on the site of Neuroth’s abstracting business, Security Title and Abstract Inc.
Peoples Credit Union was started in 1962 and has grown steadily, now with locations in Webster City, Fort Dodge and Lehigh.
For more information, Hensley said community members are welcome to contact Peoples Credit Union at any of its locations.
Neuroth and the WCMCU board of directors offered their thanks to all of their members and the Webster City community for the many years of support.
“This is an incredible juncture for not only the members of both credit unions, but also, the community. By working cooperatively and bringing our two financials together, we can better serve all the communities where we are located,” Hensley said. “Coming together helps us gather the economies of scale needed to offer better services, security and technologies to all those we serve.
“All of us at Peoples are looking forward to getting to now the new members coming in and look forward to providing them with the best banking services we can,” he said.
