Homecoming week events continue

Boom Night set for tonight; parade to travel through downtown Friday

It’s homecoming week in Webster City and tonight, students, faculty and parents will gather in the Prem Sahai Auditorium at the high school for Boom Night.

The evening will feature the introduction of the fall sports teams, skits from each of the high school grade levels and the crowning of the homecoming king and queen. The homecoming court includes Cinestie Olson, Cassidy Nerland, Halle Mason, Sarah Vogelbacher, Haley Flaws, Tyler Bultena, Luke Rohmiller, Zane Williams, Cooper Lawson and Tanner Jordan.

Students will be dismissed early on Friday for the homecoming parade.

The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. School officials said the line up will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Seneca Street on the west side of Twin Parks.

All parade entries will be contacted with the location of where to line up before the parade. The parade will travel north on Seneca Street, turn west on Second Street, turn south on Des Moines Street and end at the Webster City Middle School.

The Lynx Football squad will face Iowa Falls-Alden on Lynx Field for the homecoming match-up. The game gets underway at 7:30 p.m.

Prior to the football game, the Kiwanis Club will host a chili supper at the high school, featuring chili, J-ello, cinnamon roll or bar and a drink with serving from 5 to 7 p.m.

The homecoming dance will be held for high school students at the high school from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday.
