ELLSWORTH — Love’s Travel Stop opened for business Thursday in Ellsworth, at Interstate 35 and State Route 175 (Exit 133).

The travel stop adds approximately 60 jobs to Hamilton County.

“We are excited to open our second store in Iowa this month,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s. “With its location along Interstate 35, its proximity to Ames on the south and the busy U.S. Highway 20 to the north, Ellsworth is in a great location for us to serve customers with the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ Love’s is known for.”

The new 11,000 sq. ft. facility brings a new restaurant and services to the area, such as fuel, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift items, a game room, a Hardee’s restaurant and more. Professional drivers can use 100 truck-parking spaces, seven showers and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center. Ellsworth is Love’s seventh location in Iowa.

Love’s officials said they are celebrating the opening with a donation to South High Pride Booster Club and Special Olympics Iowa. The donations will be presented at a ribbon cutting on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Founded in 1964, Love’s has more than 400 locations in 40 states.
