DFJ to host forum

Two candidates for Hamilton County Sheriff will meet to discuss the issues in a forum hosted by The Daily Freeman-Journal.

The two candidates, Rod Hicok of Webster City and Doug Timmons will appear at the forum on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Webster City Middle School.

This is the second forum the DFJ has hosted. The first was held in May prior to the Republican primary and featured Timmons and candidates William Derrig and Ken Peck. Timmons was declared the primary winner.

Hicok joined the race in July, running as an independent candidate.

Both candidates are currently deputies with the Hamilton County sheriff’s office.

The forum will be moderated by Bill Shea, The Messenger city editor and a veteran political reporter. Individuals who would like to submit a question for consideration, may send them to ablankenship@freemanjournal.net. Questions will also be taken the night of the forum.
