Ride to benefit Leeper Fund

Organizers have announced that the second annual Leeper’s Legacy Memorial Ride has been scheduled for Aug. 6.

The event is held in memory of Jorden Leeper, a Webster City High School student who died in an auto accident in February 2015. All proceeds from the ride will go to the Jorden Leeper Fund through Upper Des Moines Opportunity and a scholarship fund in Leeper’s name.

Sign-up for the ride will be held at MaidRite in Webster City from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 6. Organizers said kickstands will be up by 11 a.m. Cost for the ride is $20 for single riders or $30 for couples. The ride will make several stops along the way, including Riverside in Lehigh, Toby’s Hideaway in Boone where food will be available, Benny’s in Radcliffe, The Garage Tavern in Coulter and Fuel in Clarion. A 50/50 drawing will be available at each stop.

At Fuel, participants will draw for poker hands and door prizes will be awarded. Entertainment will be provided by a DJ, and a silent and live auction will start at 5:30 p.m.

A Traeger Grill will be raffled off. Tickets are $5 each.
