Open house Tuesday

Hamilton County Conservation will be hosting an open house for the newly-opened Hickory Cabin at Briggs Woods Park on Tuesday, June 14 for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Attendees will have a chance to register for one free weekday night during the off season in one of the cabins.

The Hamilton County Conservation Board will be present to give tours and provide information about the cabin project.

Visitors are encouraged to come and see the opportunities that Briggs Woods Park has to offer.

The Hamilton County Conservation Office is located in central Iowa and manages 16 individual parks, wildlife areas, and river accesses, which all together, encompass over 1,700 acres.

Several major creeks and the Boone River flow through the county and provide a number of recreational water activities.
