WC boy, 6, dies after Sunday accident
A child who was injured when the bicycle he was riding collided with a motorcycle on Bank Street Sunday has died.
Jason Ramos Nolasco, 6, died Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He had been transported there by helicopter ambulance after the accident that took place near Webster City High School.
Officer Jordan Elonich, of the Webster City Police Department, confirmed the identity of the child.
The name of the motorcycle driver has not been officially released, pending an investigation into the accident.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the 1500 block of Bank Street near the parking lot west of the high school.
Webster City Police Officer Brandon Pritchard said Sunday that the motorcycle was traveling westbound and struck Ramos Nolasco when he pulled out in front of the motorcycle unexpectedly.
Ramos Nolasco is the son of Alejandro Ramos Soto and Janet Nolasco Hernandez, of Webster City.
Funeral services for Ramos Nolasco will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
The boy was enrolled in kindergarten at Pleasantview Elementary School.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Van Diest Medical Center.
The Webster City Police Department, Hamilton County sheriff’s office and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
