VDMC to host heart talk

Van Diest Medical Center will offer a free half -hour Lunchtime Learn community presentation entitled, “Matters of the HEART” on Friday from 12 to 12:30 p.m.

Originally scheduled in February, inclement weather forced the rescheduling of the program was rescheduled to Friday in the Cafeteria Conference Room at the hospital. The guest speaker is Cardiologist Dr. Joseph Cookman, with Iowa Heart Center in Fort Dodge. Cookman will share information about heart disease, lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk and empower those attending to take action to prevent this number one killer of both men and women.

The Van Diest Medical Center Garden View Caf will be serving a healthy lunch at this time for those wishing to go through the cafeteria line. There is no charge for the program and it is open to the public; pre-registration is encouraged but not required to attend.
