Legion donates to special ed project
Each year, Amanda Nichols and the special education students from Webster City High School partner with their peers and staff as well as community members to encourage others to take the “r-word” out of their vocabulary. American Legion Post 191 presented a $100 check to the Amanda Nichols and her students. Presenting the check is 1st Vice-Commander Rich Stroner (left) and Commander Marvin Carr (right). Nichols said the funds would go towards provide a free showing to the community of the movie “Radio” at The Webster Theater and to buy materials that encourage and spread the message such as stickers, buttons, bracelets, hats, and shirts.
