Seussical auditions March 11-12

Rehearsals scheduled to begin mid-May

Auditions for Seussical the Musical, Webster City Community Theatre’s summer production are coming soon. Auditions will be held Sunday, March 11 at 4 p.m. and Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at the WCCT theater, 1001 Willson Ave.

The show runs July 6-8 and 11-16. Rehearsals start in mid-May. Directors are Wil Groves and Angela Rottering. Andrew Wotherspoon is music director.

Perusal copies of the script and music cd are available at the Kendall Young Library for short-term checkout.

Seussical is a family show, for both actors and audience. The large cast includes actors and singers as young as 4th grade next fall up to parents, grandparents and beyond.

The audition process involves group singing parts of several of the Suessical tunes and individual singing for those who want solo parts. Auditions also include opportunities for script reading, basic movement, and improvisational acting.

Seussical is based on the works of Dr. Seuss, beloved author of a series of whimsical books, TV specials,and full-length movies, that have delighted children and adults for generations. Familiar characters inhabit Seussical the musical: Cat in the hat, Horton, Who Villagers, the Grinch, Mayzie, Gertrude, the Wickershams.
