Scout nominated for award

On March 1st, 2017 Webster City High School Senior Brian Borkowski who is a member of Boy Scout Troop 17 was selected and nominated by his sponsoring post, The American Legion Post 191 for The American Legion ‘Eagle Scout of the Year’ award. On March 15, 2017, Brian Borkowski was informed by The American Legion 8th District Commander Marvin Carr that he was selected by the 8th District Eagle Scout Committee Chairman Don Rasmussen that he will move on and compete against four more Eagle Scouts for the Department award. On April 22 during the American Legion 8th District Spring Conference which will be held here in Webster City at the Bridge, Brian Borkowski will be given a plaque on behalf of the 8th District for being the 8th District ‘Eagle Scout’ nominee. The start time for that will be at 1 p.m. All nominees will be notified as soon as the winners are selected in April.
