WCHS Fall Concert to be held Oct. 25th

Webster City High School vocal music program is proud to present their Fall Choir Concert on Monday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Prem Sahai Auditorium.

Newly-named Lynx Singers will perform the Caribbean-flavored, “Dansi na Kuimba;” the ballad, “Homeward Bound” and the inspirational, “On Justice, Truth and Peace.”

Next, those auditioning for the All-State Choir will perform “America the Beautiful.”

Purple & Gold Singers will then perform the following pieces used for the All-State Choir: the Renaissance-era “In Pace, In Idipsum Dormiam et Requiescam;” the Baroque-era, “Your Voices Tune” by Handel; the Romantic-era “Wechselleid Zum Tanz” by Brahms; and a Haitian piece using nonsense syllables entitled, “Blogodop.”

The finale will be all students combined performing the Halloween-inspired “Double Trouble” from “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.”

Students auditioning for All-State include: Josie Asklund (alto), Daniel Blankenship (bass), Gianna Borer (alto), Maren Borer (alto), Brian Borkowski (tenor), Tanner Cross (bass), Shyann Cusey (soprano), Gage Dixon (bass), Jonathan Dixson (bass), Desiree Farwell (soprano), Bryan Ferrell (bass), Tyler Geopfert (trombone), Kate Hollander (flute), Haley Johnson (alto), Matt Johnson (tenor), Ursula Leksell (clarinet), Kyra McKee, (soprano), McKenna Mitchell (soprano), Jake Nilles (bass), Elycia Obrecht (alto), Kaitlynn Seeley (flute) and Daniel Sharar (tenor).

The choirs are directed by Cinnamon Kleeman and Andrew Wotherspoon.
