Applications for Stearns Trust now being accepted

Under her Last Will and Testament, Teresa Treat Stearns established a trust the income of which is to be used for the good of the community of Webster City, and vicinity for the purpose of benefiting such needy persons, families, organizations, associations or groups as the Trustee determines should receive assistance. In particular, the Will provides that the Trustee may grant assistance for the purposes including scholarships, as well as grants to organizations with charitable, religious or educational purposes.

First American Bank, as Trustee, and the Advisory Trustees will be meeting later this spring to award scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year and to consider other grant requests. The Trust Scholarship is available to graduates of Webster City High School who will be attending any major accredited college, university, vocational school or school of nursing. Students, who are in the junior or senior year of college, or second year of a two-year vocational program, will be given priority. Applications for the scholarship may be picked up at First American Bank, Webster City. Applications must be turned in to First American Bank, 1207 Central Ave, Fort Dodge, IA 50501 by May 22. Applications received after that date will not be considered.

Grant requests from organizations with charitable, religious or educational purposes should include a description of the project/program for which funding is requested, a detailed budget for the project/program, identification of how many individuals will be served through the project/program, and listing of other funding sources for the project/program. To be considered this spring, grant requests must be submitted to First American Bank, Fort Dodge by May 22.

Any questions regarding the scholarships or grants should be directed to Dianne Dennis at First American Bank. (515) 955-0681, dianne.dennis@bankfirstamerican.com or Jessica Martens at First American Bank (515) 955-0679, jessica.martens@bankfirstamerican.com
